Odisha to Have Directorates for Museums, Archeology, Public Libraries

Bhubaneswar: Odisha state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved proposals to have three separate directorates for museums, archaeology and public libraries in the state.

As per the Cabinet decision, the state government will create a Directorate of Archaeology for the preservation, protection and publicity of ancient temples and monuments in Odisha.

The Directorate of Public Libraries will be involved in better management of Harekrushna Mahtab State Library, libraries functioning in different districts and blocks.

The Cabinet also approved the creation of various posts for the three new directorates.
