Orissa High Court Quashes Junior Teacher Recruitment Merit List Prepared by OSEPA

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Tuesday rejected the merit list prepared by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) for the appointment of junior teachers in primary and upper primary schools in the state.

Hearing pleas alleging irregularities in the recruitment process of junior teachers, the court also quashed the district-wise merit list prepared by the OSEPA.

The Orissa High Court ordered the OSEPA to prepare a fresh merit list adhering to the recruitment terms and guidelines.

Some candidates had approached the High Court alleging irregularities in the junior teacher recruitment process.

On January 19, 2024, the Orissa High Court directed the Odisha government to put on hold the final selection and appointment of 20,000 junior teachers till the next hearing.
