Paris Olympics: Manu Bhaker Qualifies for Women’s 25m Pistol Final, Finishes 2nd Qualification

Paris: Manu Bhaker secured her spot in the final of the women’s 25m pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024, marking her third final appearance. Bhaker, with a total score of 590 points in both the precision and rapid rounds, finished second in the rankings, just 2 points behind Hungary’s Veronika Major, who equalled the Olympic qualification record with 592 points.

Esha Singh, who also competed in the qualification round, ended in 18th place and did not advance to the final. Bhaker, already a two-time bronze medalist in the women’s 10m air pistol and mixed 10m air pistol events, is now a strong contender for her third Olympic medal.

Bhaker’s Qualification Performance

  • Precision Round Scores: 97, 98, 99
  • Rapid Round Scores: 100, 98, 98

Bhaker had a rocky start in the precision round but finished strong with five consecutive 10s. She scored 294 points in the precision round, missing the top spot on inner 10s, and continued her strong performance in the rapid round with a perfect 100 in the first series. Bhaker’s consistent shooting secured her second-place finish and a place in the final.

With the final scheduled for August 3 at 1:30 PM IST, all eyes will be on Manu Bhaker as she strives to add another medal to India’s tally.
