Passenger Tries to Open Emergency Exit Mid-Air on IndiGo Flight, Arrested

New Delhi: A passenger on board IndiGo flight 6E-457 from Guwahati to Agartala tried to open the emergency exit door mid-air on Thursday. He was later arrested.

Another passenger sitting next to this unruly man tried to stop him but he kept trying to open the emergency door.

Flight attendants also rushed to stop the man, but did not stop his misdeed which could have put lives of all passengers in danger.

The fellow passengers dragged him away in order to stop him.

A video of the incident is viral on social media.

The unruly passenger was identified as Biswajit Debnath. He was arrested when the flight landed in Agartala.

Investigation revealed that he had consumed some narcotics during the travel.

Notably, the development comes a day after a passenger onboard a Chennai-bound IndiGo flight attempted to open the emergency door of the airplane early on Wednesday.

Identified as Manikandan, the man was handed over to officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on arrival at the Chennai airport.
