PM Modi Hails Union Budget 2024: A Boost for All Sections of Society

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Union Budget 2024, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, emphasizing its inclusive approach to societal upliftment.

In a video address, PM Modi highlighted the budget’s potential to drive prosperity for the poor, rural areas, and farmers.

He noted the significant reduction in poverty over the past decade, with 25 crore people rising above the poverty line. Modi stressed that the budget aims to empower the burgeoning middle class and create abundant opportunities for youth. He pointed out that the budget will elevate education and skills, providing substantial support for women, small businesses, and MSMEs.

PM Modi praised the budget for its robust schemes tailored to support tribals, Dalits, and backward communities, fostering financial inclusion and partnership.

A key highlight was the Centre’s ‘Employment Linked Incentive Scheme’. PM Modi explained that this initiative will create numerous job opportunities, with the government covering the first month’s salary for new workforce entrants. This scheme will enable rural youth to gain employment in top companies through apprenticeship programs.

In her budget speech, Sitharaman detailed that the scheme will offer a month’s wage, disbursed in three installments, to first-time employees earning up to ₹15,000, with an eligibility cap of ₹1 lakh per month. This initiative is projected to benefit 210 lakh youth.

PM Modi also mentioned provisions in the budget aimed at making India’s defence sector self-reliant, as well as a focus on boosting tourism. He concluded that the budget will foster new opportunities for startups and the innovation sector, driving the nation towards greater self-sufficiency and growth.
