PM Modi to Unveil 1st Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi During UAE Visit, To Attend ‘Ahlan Modi’ Event

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi during his visit to the UAE. He will also attend the mega ‘Ahlan Modi’ event in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday which will be attended by more than 35,000 attendees. ‘Ahlan Modi’ is Welcome Modi in Arabic.

Ahead of his visit to UAE, PM Modi praised the Indians abroad and said he was proud of “their efforts to deepen India’s engagement with the world”.

In a post on X, the PM said, “This evening, I look forward to being among UAE’s Indian diaspora at the #AhlanModi programme! Do join this memorable occasion.”

‘Ahlan Modi’ will take place at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi. At present around 3.5 million Indians work in the UAE.

Before leaving for his UAE and Qatar trip, the PM in another post on X, said that over the next two days, which will also take him to Qatar, said he will “attend various programmes, which will deepen India’s bilateral relations with these nations”.

It will be PM Modi’s seventh UAE trip to the UAE since 2014, and the second to Qatar.

He will hold talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for comprehensive strategic partnership.

While in the UAE, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the BAPS Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi.

“The BAPS temple will be an enduring tribute to the values of harmony, peace and tolerance, which both India and the UAE share,” The PM said.

In Qatar, the Prime Minister will meet Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as other key dignitaries in Qatar.
