Prime Accused of Sambalpur Bombing Case Arrested

Sambalpur: Police have arrested the prime accused of the Sambalpur bombing case. The arrested accused was identified as Abhilash Mishra (19) of Sunaripada, Badbazar in Sambalpur town.

Police also seized a white colour cycle, a white colour hoody, an Apple Mobile phone, electronic tools for the preparation of pressure bomb, a scooty, shouldering machine, burnt bullet motor bike, two burnt batteries, electronic circuit, LED machine, heat gun, and a plastic handle knife from possession of the arrested man.

According to police sources, Abhilash had hurled a pressure bomb from flyover near Peerbaba square of Sambalpur. At least three persons were injured in this bombing incident.

Police said the bombing stemmed from past enmity. Abhilash’s father had been previously attacked by another youth, leading Abhilash to seek revenge. He threw a bomb at the person as an act of retaliation.

Abhilash, an ITI student, allegedly made the bomb himself.
