Bombs Hurled at Bike Repair Shop in Puri, 2 Injured, Accused Arrested

Puri: Two persons were injured when a miscreant hurled bombs at a bike repair shop near Baliguali on Puri-Konark marine drive road on Friday night.

Personnel of the Puri Marine police station arrested the accused involved in the incident, who was identified as Kanha Das. A bike was seized from Kanha’s possession.

According to sources, this bombing incident was related to payments for a bike repaired at the workshop. Kanha’s uncle had earlier repaired his bike at the shop. But he had not paid the garage owner.

When Kanha came to the bike repair shop on Friday to get his motorcycle repaired, the owner asked him to pay his uncle’s money. It led to an altercation and Kanha left the spot without paying the amount.

It is alleged that later on Friday night, Kanha hurled two bombs at the bike repair shop. His act was caught by a CCTV camera installed at the place.

The two persons injured in the bombing incident were admitted to the nearby hospital.

Receiving information, personnel of the Puri Marine police station rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
