Rape Case Registered Against Kerala Actor-MLA M Mukesh

Thiruvananthapuram: A rape case was filed against noted Malayalam film actor and ruling CPI(M) MLA M Mukesh following a female actor’s allegation that he sexually assaulted her years back.

The FIR against the actor was lodged under IPC 376 (rape) at the Maradu police station in Kochi on Wednesday night. The case was registered under the IPC as the offence was committed before the imposition of new Bharatiya Nyay Samhita.

This is the third FIR against high profile Malayalam film personalities for allegations of sexual harassment in the wake of revelations in the Justice K Hema Committee report.

On Wednesday, Thiruvananthapuram police booked actor Sidhique for allegedly raping an actress in a hotel room eight years ago.

A case under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty), was lodged against director Ranjith on a complaint by a female actor from West Bengal regarding an incident that happened in 2009.
