Rs 7.5 Lakh Unaccounted Cash Seized from Police Inspector in Koraput Dist

Koraput: Sleuths of Odisha Vigilance seized cash worth around Rs 7.5 lakh from Boipariguda police station’s Inspector in Charge (IIC) Susanta Kumar Satpathy.

Around Rs 2.70 lakh worth of “ill-gotten” money was seized from him when he was intercepted and searched near Jeypore on Monday evening while he was on his way to his home in Cuttack.

Later the vigilance officials seized another Rs 1.80 lakh cash from his office chamber at Boipariguda police station and Rs 3 lakh from his government quarters at Boipariguda.

According to a release from the vigilance department, a total cash of Rs 7.5 lakh has been seized so far from the possession of the police inspector.

The IIC failed to provide any satisfactory reply regarding the source of this cash with him. He has been detained for interrogation and further investigation.
