Sam Altman Back as OpenAI CEO

OpenAI declared on Wednesday that it has reached an agreement for Sam Altman to return as its CEO with a new board.

The company posted on X, “We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam to return to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo.”

Sam Altman also confirmed the news saying he was looking forward to returning to OpenAI. Altman posted on X, “I love openai, and everything i’ve done over the past few days has been in service of keeping this team and its mission together. I’m looking forward to returning to openai, and building on our strong partnership with msft (Microsoft).”

Altman was sacked from OpenAI by its board a week back. The employees of the company had protested against it and several other high-profile departures also occurred in the company that came up with ChatGPT a year back. The investors also wanted Altman to get back to the company.
