ChatGPT’s Indian Rival Hanooman May be Launched Next Month

New Delhi: Hanooman, the artificial intelligence (AI) tool of Reliance Industries may make its debut next month, reported The Tribune.

This AI tool was unveiled in December 2023. It is a joint venture of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) with support of the Central Government.

Announced by Reliance Group scion Akash Ambani, Hanooman is one of the AI tools being developed in India to compete with ChatGPT.

The other AI tools being developed in India include Sarvam, Krutrim.

Akash said the group had been working on this AI tool also known as BharatGPT for the past eight years. BharatGPT though will be unique.

Hanooman, or BharatGPT as it was called earlier, will be a multi-language AI model handling coding, content writing and even solving mathematics questions.
