Mukesh Ambani Enters $100 Billion Club, Overtakes Gautam Adani as Asia’s Richest

Mumbai: Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) re-entered the $100 billion club on Friday following a sharp increase in RIL shares. He also surpassed Gautam Adani to become Asia’s richest person.

Elon Musk of Tesla maintains the top position with a wealth of $212 billion. He is followed trailed by Jeff Bezos of Amazon with $180 billion and Bernard Arnault, the French business magnate, with $164 billion. Among Indians, Gautam Adani ranks 14th with a total wealth of $96.2 billion.

Ambani reached the 12th position on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His wealth increased by over $2.76 billion in a day.

Reliance shares showed a sharp rally during the past few trading sessions. Because of it, there was a $5.47 billion surge in Mukesh Ambani’s net worth since the beginning of 2024. There was around 3 per cent increase in the shares of RIL in the past five trading sessions. The total market capitalisation of RIL has reached the Rs 18.40 lakh crore mark.

In December 2023, the RIL stock experienced a 12 per cent increase. The Jio Financial Services (JFSL) witnessed a gain of over 4.6 per cent, closing at Rs 251.50 on Thursday, with a market capitalisation close to Rs 1.6 lakh crore on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
