Nita Ambani to Step Down from Reliance Board, Making Way for Children

Mumbai: Nita Ambani is to step down from the Reliance board of directors. According to sources, she is making way for her children Isha, Akash, and Anant to take over the mantle.

Even after resignation, from the board of directors, Nita Ambani will continue to attend all board meetings as a permanent invitee.

As per reports, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, Anant Ambani are to be appointed non-executive directors of the Reliance conglomerate in the near future. The board of directors has already recommended their appointment the decision waits for approval by its shareholders.

Mukesh Ambani is the chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL).

The three Ambani scions are leading and managing key businesses of Reliance over the last few years including retail, digital services and energy and materials businesses, the company said in a press release.

“The Board of Directors also accepted the resignation of Nita Ambani from the Board respecting her decision to devote her energies and time to guide and enable Reliance Foundation to make an even greater impact for India,” the press release added.
