Samajwadi Party Again Nominates Jaya Bachchan for Rajya Sabha from UP

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Tuesday nominated actor-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan, Ramjilal Suman, and former IAS officer Alok Ranjan as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Jaya Bachchan was re-nominated for Rajya Sabha by the party. Ranjan is being nominated to the Rajya Sabha for the first time.

The SP, with 108 MLAs in the UP Assembly is in a position to send three members.

Elections for 56 Rajya Sabha seats spread across 15 states are scheduled to be held on February 27. The last date for filing nominations is February 15.

The results will be announced on the day of polling.
