Sarabjit Singh’s Killer Gunned Down in Pakistan’s Lahore

Aamir Sarfaraz alias Tamba, one of the accused in the brutal killing of Indian national Sarabjit Singh in Kot Lakhpat jail in 2013 was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Lahore’s Islampura area, reported Pakistani media on Sunday.

According to the reports, two bike-borne assailants fired at Aamir Sarfaraz at his residence in Lahore’s Islampura. Later, Aamir succumbed to his injuries.

Aamir was one of the key accused in the murder of Sarabjit Singh. But a Pakistani court acquitted him as all the witnesses turned hostile.

Aamir and other inmates of the jail had attacked Sarabjit Singh with bricks and rod, who died during treatment on May 2, 2013.

Singh, a resident of Bhikhiwind in Punjab, had crossed over to Pakistan by mistake. He was arrested in Pakistan and was later sentenced to death over his alleged role in a 1990 bomb blast in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Aamir’s family claimed that he was receiving threats for some time.

Sarfaraz was shot twice in the chest and twice in the legs.
