PTI Supporters Celebrate as Pak Forces Start Withdrawing from Imran Khan’s Lahore Residence

Security forces have started withdrawing from around former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore, reported Aljazeera.

Pakistan Rangers along with police from the Pak capital, Islamabad tried for a second day to arrest Imran Khan in the Toshkhana case that pertains to his alleged selling of state gifts received from foreign leaders when he was prime minister.

As Pakistan’s security forces deployed outside former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s residence started to withdraw, the supporters of Imran Khan led Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party started to celebrate. They had not let the security forces arrest the former Pak premier.

Videos posted by the PTI on social media showed people hugging each other and raising slogans in favour of Khan at Lahore’s Zaman Park area.

“A moment of joy for the workers who had been fighting for 21 hours to send back the police force from Imran Khan’s residence for a third time,” a tweet posted by the PTI in Urdu language said.
