Rs 600 Cr Worth Drugs Seized, 14 Pakistanis Arrested Off Gujarat Coast

Ahmedabad: During a joint operation by the Indian Coast Guard, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Gujarat and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday, 14 Pakistani nationals involved in drugs smuggling were arrested off the Gujarat coast.

Around 86 kg of contraband drugs, suspected to be heroin, worth around Rs 600 crore, were seized from their possession.

In a statement, the Indian Coast Guard said, “Indian Coast Guard Ship Rajratan with ATS Gujarat and NCB in an overnight sea-air coordinated joint ops apprehends Pakistani boat in the Arabian Sea, west of Porbandar, with 14 Pak crew and 86kg contraband approx Rs 600 crore.”

One of the crew members of the Pakistani boat reportedly received bullet injuries during the operation.

The seized drugs were planned to be transported to Tamil Nadu via an Indian boat and it was to be finally delivered to a drug mafia in Sri Lanka.
