Paradip Boat Capsize, Coast Guard Chopper Searching for 3 Missing Fishermen

Paradip: Search operation continues to locate three fishermen who went missing after a boat capsized in the sea off Paradip coast on Tuesday evening. A chopper of the Indian Coast Guard is being used for the search operation.

The Paradip Port Tugboat and the local fishermen are also involved in this search and rescue operation. Indian Coast Guard suspended its search operation late Tuesday evening because of darkness and resumed it early Wednesday morning.

As per reports, there were eight fishermen in the boat that capsized due to strong sea currents while it was returning to the coast.

All the fishermen fell into the deep sea. Five of them were rescued by the local fishermen, fire brigade personnel and Coast Guard. Search is on to locate the other three missing fishermen.

The local marine police station is also making inquiries to ascertain whether the missing fishermen swam to reach some other place on the coast.
