Severe Heatwave: Temp Above 38°C By 11.30 AM in 4 Places in Odisha, Bhubaneswar 39.2°C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha experienced a severe heatwave on Monday as at least four places in Odisha recorded temperatures above 38°C by 11.30 am. Seven places in the state recorded temperatures above 37°C at 11.30 PM in the state.

Balasore recorded 39.6°C and in Bhubaneswar it was 39.2°C.

Other places in the state where the day temperatures were above 37°C include Chandbali (38.7°C), Jharsuguda (38.4°C), Kenjhar (38°C), Hirakud (37.5°C), and Rourkela (37°C).

Four other places had day temperatures above 34°C at 11.30. They were Sambalpur (36.8°C), Gopalpur (35.2°C), Paradip (35°C), and Puri (34.5°C).

The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has warned that the day temperatures are likely to rise beyond 40°C in several places in the state in coming days.
