Successful Training launch of Agni-1 Off Odisha Coast

Bhubaneswar: India’s short-range ballistic missile ‘Agni-1’ underwent a successful training launch off Odisha coast on Thursday.

“Training launch of short-range ballistic missile Agni-1 carried out successfully from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast on December 7,” said a statement issued by the Defence Ministry.

The user training launch, carried out under the aegis of the strategic forces command, successfully validated all operational and technical parameters, the statement added.

Agni-1 missile has a range of around 2,000 km and it can carry up to 1,000 kg of nuclear warheads, sources said.

The ‘Agni-1’ is a very high-precision missile system.
