Sudam Marndi to Take Over Revenue & Disaster Management Ministry

Bhubaneswar: Sudam Marndi, the Minister of School and Mass Education of Odisha will take over additional charge of Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management following the resignation of Pramila Mallik from the post.

Pramila Mallik resigned from the post of minister as she was chosen as the BJD candidate for the post of Odisha Assembly Speaker.

Pramila Mallik reached Naveen Niwas on Thursday morning to handover her resignation to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday declared Binjharpur MLA Pramila Mallik as its candidate for the election of the Assembly Speaker.

The election to the post of Speaker will be held on September 22. Pramila Mallik will be the first ever woman Speaker of the Odisha Assembly.
