From Dussehra Visakhapatnam Will be Andhra Pradesh’s Executive Capital

New Delhi: Visakhapatnam will officially become the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh from Dusseehra with the shifting of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s official residence to the city.

The Andhra Pradesh CM informed this at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The office of the Andhra Chief Minister will begin to function from Visakhapatnam from the day of Vijaya Dasmi.

A committee of officials will be assigned the work to identify buildings for shifting various government departments to Visakhapatnam.

Another committee will be constituted to shift the offices from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

Speaking at an event in Delhi on January 31, the Andhra CM had announced that Visakhapatnam will soon be the state capital.

On December 17, 2019, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy announced in the Andhra Assembly that the state will have three state capitals.

The YSRCP government mooted Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital, Kurnool as the judicial capital and Amaravati as the legislative capital.
