TMC Leader Killed in West Bengal Poll Violence, 5 Persons Arrested

Kolkata: A local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader was allegedly murdered on Saturday morning at Mahishadal under the Tamluk Lok Sabha constituency in East Midnapore district.

The West Bengal Police have arrested five persons including a woman in connection with the murder of this TMC leader named Sheikh Moibul

As per reports, Moibul died in a clash between the BJP and TMC just before the start of the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections in eight constituencies of West Bengal on Saturday morning.

Trinamool MLA from Mahishadal, Tilak Kumar Chakraborty, claimed that the five persons arrested in the case are actively associated with the BJP.

However, local BJP leader Tapan Bandopadhyay said that those arrested have no connection with the BJP.
