Two Bike Riders Killed in Head-On Collision With Container Truck in Kalahandi Dist

Bhawanipatna: Two persons travelling on a bike died when their vehicle had a head-on collision with a container truck at Dhepaguda under Biswanathpur police station limits in Kalahandi district on State Highway-6 connecting Bhawanipatna and Visakhapatnam on Monday.

The deceased were Arun Dhangda Majhi and Padmalochan Patra from the Pokharibandha village under Biswanathpur police station limits of the district. Both were masons and were travelling to a construction site in Gorakela when they met with an accident.

The speeding truck coming from Rayagada overturned after colliding with the bike. The truck driver escaped from the spot after the accident.

Personnel of the Biswanathpur police station seized the accident-causing truck and sent the bodies for post-mortem.

Locals held a demonstration at the spot of the accident demanding compensation to the families of the deceased persons.
