Uorfi Javed Booked for Creating & Sharing Fake Arrest Video

Mumbai: A case was lodged against social media influencer Uorfi Javed and four others by the Mumbai police for creating and sharing a fake video showing her getting arrested.

In the viral video, some women dressed as police personnel were shown to be taking Uorfi Javed into custody from a cafe. When Uorfi asks them the reason, the fame ‘cop’ replied, “Itne chote chote kapde kaun pehenke ghumta hai (who roams around wearing such a short dress)?”

Police investigation proved that it was a fake video enacted for cheap publicity.

A case was registered at the Oshiwara police station against Uorfi and other people seen in the video under sections 171 (wearing garb or carrying a token used by a public servant with fraudulent intent), 419 (cheating by impersonation), 500 (defamation), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
