UP Teacher Asks Muslim Student to Slap Hindu Classmate, Arrested

Muzaffarnagar: Another ‘communal’ slapping incident happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar. A teacher named Sajishta was arrested and suspended from her duties on charges of asking a Muslim student in class 5 to slap a Hindu classmate.

The incident happened on September 26. When a Class 5 student failed to answer the teacher’s question, she allegedly asked a Muslim fellow student to slap the boy.

Father of this 11-year-old boy lodged a case against the teacher on September 27. After investigation, police arrested the teacher on September 28 and school authorities suspended her from her duties.

A month back a similar incident occurred in a private school in Muzaffarnagar. A teacher of the school directed children in a class to slap their Muslim classmate. Its viral video sparked much outrage. It showed children taking turns to slap a a crying Muslim student as the teacher looked on.
