Abandoned by Children, 85-Yr-Old Man Donates Rs 1.5 Cr Property to UP Govt

Lucknow: After being abandoned by his children, an 85-year-old man donated his property worth Rs 1.5 crore to the Uttar Pradesh government. This man named Nathu Singh has also donated his body to a medical college. In a statement, he proclaimed that his son and four daughters should not be allowed to perform his last rites.

Nathu Singh lives in Muzaffarnagar. He has a son, who works as a schoolteacher in Saharanpur. His four daughters are all married. He alleges that none of his children take care of him. After his wife’s death, he was compelled to live all alone. Seven months back he shifted to an old age home.

Nathu Singh owns a house and land worth Rs 1.5 crore. As none of his family even prefers to come and meet him at the old age home, this octogenarian willed his land and house to the UP government urging the officials to build a hospital or a school there, after his death.

Speaking to The Times Of India, the octogenarian said, “At this age, I should have lived with my son and daughter-in-law but they did not treat me well. That is why I made up my mind to transfer the property.”

The will also says that he has decided to donate his body for use in research and academic work.

The sub-registrar of the area said Nathu Singh’s affidavit regarding his property will come into force after his death.
