Virat Kohli Returns Home From South Africa Due To Family Emergency: Reports

New Delhi: Indian batting mainstay Virat Kohli’s South Africa tour took an unexpected turn as he left for Mumbai to address a family emergency. With BCCI and team management backing him, Kohli missed the ongoing practice match in Pretoria but is expected to rejoin the squad before the first Test on December 22nd.

This comes after Kohli was rested from the white-ball series, a 1-1 draw in the T20Is followed by India’s triumphant 2-1 victory in the ODIs. Sanju Samson’s scintillating century and Arshdeep Singh’s dazzling exploits were crucial in the ODI success.

Upon the conclusion of the practice match, the entire Indian team will regroup in Johannesburg before travelling to Centurion for the Boxing Day Test, kicking off on December 30th. The final Test of the series commences on January 3rd in Cape Town.
