Bhubaneswar: Chief Civil Supplies Officer, Bhubaneswar, Prashanta Kumar Gantayat, was arrested by Odisha Vigilance on Friday for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a release of the vigilance department, Gantayat possesses disproportionate assets including multi-storey buildings, flats, plots, deposits worth Rs 1. 48 crore, gold weighing 536 gm, and Rs.1.21 lakh in cash.
The assets of the arrested official:
- An under-construction triple-storey building worth around Rs 83 lakh at Pandara in Bhubaneswar
- A double-storey building (VIM-192) at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.
- An apartment at Neelachal City on Canal Road, Badagada, Laxmi Sagar in Bhubaneswar.
- Another apartment at village Bhabanipur, Berhampur-II of Neelachal Heights.
- Five plots, three in prime areas of Bhubaneswar.
- Gold weighing 536 grams
- Bank, insurance deposits of over Rs 1.48 crore
- Rs 1,21,960 in cash
- One 4-wheeler and two 2-wheelers
