Colombo: Washington Sundar flew to Colombo as a last-minute addition to Team India ahead of the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Sundar will replace all-rounder Axar Patel, who was hit on his wrist and forearm area while batting in the match against Bangladesh on Friday, which India lost by six runs.
Sundar is also part of the Asian Games squad, which will take part in the continental event in Hangzhou, China.
Sundar’s last international match was the T20 series against Ireland held last month.
Sundar with his off-breaks can be an asset against Sri Lankan left-handers in the powerplay overs.
