New Delhi: Afghanistan has set a target of 273 runs for India in the IND vs AFG clash. Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first, with captain Shahidi leading the way, contributing an impressive 80 runs to their innings. Notably, Ajmatullah Omarzai also played a significant role, scoring a well-deserved half-century.

The Afghans got off to a shaky start with Ibrahim Zadran falling to Jasprit Bumrah quite early. Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah fell soon to leave Afghanistan stranded at 63 for 3.

A partnership worth 121 runs between Ajmatullah Omarzai and Hashmatullah Shahidi steadied the Afghan innings. Both batsmen reached their half-centuries, with Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi leading from the front.

In the 35th over, Hardik Pandya made a crucial breakthrough, dismissing Omarzai, who had scored 62 runs. However, Afghanistan’s captain Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi added 41 valuable runs to the team’s total before Shahidi fell in the 43rd over after scoring 80 runs.

The 45th over witnessed an impressive performance by Jasprit Bumrah. In this over, he claimed the wickets of Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi, setting Afghanistan back. Finally, in the 49th over, Jasprit Bumrah secured his fourth wicket by dismissing Rashid Khan.

Jasprit Bumrah led India’s bowling attack, taking four wickets, while Hardik Pandya accounted for two wickets. Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav contributed with a wicket each.
