Wrestler Vinesh Phogat Joins Agitating Farmers at Shambhu Border

New Delhi: Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat joined the agitating farmers at the Shambhu border on Saturday to extend her unwavering support for the farmers’ protest.

“Your daughter is with you”, she said, as the farmers’ protest entered the 200th day on Saturday.

Farmers are protesting at the Shambhu border since February 13, after they were prevented to march to Delhi. Their demands include a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops among other key issues.

Vinesh Phogat has continued to support the farmers’ movement. She was welcomed with garlands by the farmers.

In her speech, Vinesh Phogat urged the government to fulfil farmers’ demands.

“Farmers are sitting here for 200 days for their rights. I appeal to the government to fulfil their demands. It is very sad that they have not been listened since 200 days. We got a lot of strength by seeing them,” she said.
