Yashasvi Jaiswal Jumps 11 Spots, Rohit Sharma Breaks into Top 10 in Latest ICC Test Rankings

Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved up 11 places to 63rd in the latest ICC Test rankings for batsmen. The 21-year-old Indian opener scored 57 and 38 in the drawn second Test against the West Indies in Port of Spain.

Rohit Sharma inches up to ninth position

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has moved up one place to ninth in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen. Rohit scored 80 and 57 in the second Test and now has 759 points. He shares the ninth spot with Sri Lankan counterpart Dimuth Karunaratne.

Other Indian players’ rankings

Rishabh Pant has slipped one place to 12th in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen, while Virat Kohli remains in 14th place. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin continues to dominate the bowlers’ list with 879 points, and Ravindra Jadeja has climbed to sixth place with 782 points.

Marnus Labuschagne and Joe Root make a comeback

Formerly top-ranked batters Marnus Labuschagne of Australia and Joe Root of England have made their way back to the top, securing the second and third positions, respectively. New Zealand’s Kane Williamson remains at the pinnacle of the list with 883 rating points.

England players’ rise in rankings

England’s Zak Crawley, Harry Brook, and Jonny Bairstow have all prospered in the rankings after the fourth Ashes Test. Crawley is up 13 places to 35th, Brook rises to 11th position, and Bairstow advances three places to joint-19th.

Other notable improvements

Pacer Mohammad Siraj has risen six places to 33rd, Sri Lanka’s Prabath Jayasuriya’s seven-wicket haul has lifted him seven places to a career-best seventh position, and Ramesh Mendis has moved up one place to 21st in the bowlers’ rankings.

All-rounders rankings

In the all-rounders’ rankings, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin continue to hold the top two spots, while Axar Patel remains steady at number five.
