16-Yr-Old Boy Rapes, Impregnates 15-Yr-Old Girl; Nabbed in Cuttack

Cuttack: A 16-year-old minor boy was nabbed by Cuttack police for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old minor girl.

The victim is a minor girl living in a slum of Dargha Bazar area. Her pregnancy came to the fore when she complained of frequent stomach pain a week back. When her family members consulted to a doctor on Saturday, and an ultrasound dtest was done, she was found to be carrying an eight-month-old dead foetus in her womb. After finding it, the consulting doctor informed the police.

When the police personnel counseled with the minor girl, she disclosed that she had become pregnant after a boy of her slum had raped her.

Police registered a case and recorded her statement in a local court. Later, following court order, through medical procedure the dead foetus was removed from her womb.

Police took the accused minor into custody and he was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which directed the delinquent to be sent to a reformation centre in Angul district.
