Alcoholic Man Kills Wife in Fit of Rage in Balangir Dist

Balangir: A liquor addict allegedly murdered his wife in a fit of rage at Fatakara village under Paintula police station limits in the Balangir district on Thursday night.

The body of the victim identified as Mamata Chhanda was discovered at their house. The mark on her neck hinted that she was strangled to death.

Police have taken her Abhijit into custody. The body of the deceased has been seized and sent for autopsy.

According to reports, Abhijit is a liquor addict and the couple used to have regular quarrels over it. On Thursday night, Abhijit had reached home in drunken state and the couple had a heated altercation. In a rage, Abhijit allegedly strangled his wife to death.

The couple was married around eight years back. They have two young children together.
