Man Accused Of Stabbing 24-Yr-Old Woman To Death In Bengaluru PG Arrested In MP: Cops

Bengaluru: The man accused of the gruesome murder of a 24-year-old Bihar woman inside her hostel in Koramangala has been apprehended. Abhishek, the prime suspect, was nabbed by police in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, bringing a temporary closure to the horrifying incident that shook the city.

Kriti Kumari, an employee of a private firm, was brutally murdered on the night of July 23 at Bhargavi Staying Homes For Ladies. The hostel, located in Venkatreddy Layout, is situated in close proximity to the South East Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office and the Koramangala police station.

According to the police, the accused gained entry to the PG hostel and fatally attacked Kriti with a knife near her third-floor room at around 11:30 PM. The young woman succumbed to multiple stab wounds at the crime scene.

Shocking CCTV footage captured the horrific incident, showing Abhishek approaching Kriti’s room and forcibly entering. A desperate struggle ensued as the victim attempted to fend off the attacker, but she was ultimately overpowered. The accused then fled the scene.

Initial investigations suggest that the murderer was known to the victim. Moreover, the police have attributed negligence to the PG hostel owner for the tragic occurrence.

A case has been registered, and the accused is currently being transported to Bengaluru for further interrogation to ascertain the motive behind the heinous crime.
