Chhattisgarh Orchestra Artiste Gangraped In Jharkhand, Days After Spanish Tourist’s Gang rape

Ranchi: A few days after a Spanish tourist was gang raped in Jharkhand’s Dumka, a stage performer from Chhattisgarh has alleged that she was gang raped by a group of three persons in the state’s Palamu district.

The victim alleged that the three accused men spiked her drink with some intoxicant and gang-raped her.

Police have arrested two accused, while another is absconding. The 21-year-old survivor is admitted to a government hospital. She hails from Chhattisgarh and had come to Palamu to perform in an orchestra event. An orchestra party typically comprises singers, musicians and dancers.

According to the victim, a man named Golu, one of the accused, who runs an orchestra group in Palamu, had called her and her sister for a performance at a wedding on Saturday. But the performance was cancelled and Golu took them to his home.

The two sisters were given separate rooms. Golu then offered cold drinks to them. According to the victim, the drink was laced with some intoxicant. When she became intoxicated, Golu and two others repeatedly raped her.
