College Girl’s Head Smashed in Dhenkanal, 2 Arrested for Murder

Dhenkanal: Two persons were arrested for the alleged murder of a 17-year-old college girl. The body of the girl, with her head smashed, was found in a forest on the outskirts of Dhenkanal town.

The arrested duo was identified as Bijay Behera (35) and Narayan Sahoo (25) from the Khajuri hamlet in Mangalpur.

The blood-stained stone with which they killed the victim as well as blood sprinkled clothes of the two accused were seized by the police.

According to police sources, the duo murdered the girl in a gruesome manner because of their past enmity against her father. Narayan was a cousin of the victim.

Police investigation and CCTV footage proved that Bijay took the girl on his bike from Dhenkanal town to the forest jungle on February 29 where Narayan and an associate were waiting.  There, the three men hit the girl’s head with a big stone to kill her on the spot.

The third accused involved in the crime is still absconding.
