Drunkard Youth Hacks Mother to Death as She Refuses Money for Liquor in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A drunkard youth allegedly hacked his elderly mother to death in an inebriated state when she denied to give him money to buy liquor at Raitala village under the Gondia police station limits in Dhenkanal district on Tuesday.

The deceased identified as Tikili Nayak was murdered by her son Ganesh Nayak.

According to neighbours, Ganesh had a heated argument with his mother when the latter refused give money for his booze.

In a fit of rage, inebriated Ganesh hacked his mother with a machete and ran away from the spot.

Hearing her scream, neighbours rushed to the spot and found the woman in a pool of blood.

Personnel of Gondia police station rushed to the spot and seized the body for post-mortem. According to police sources, the accused son is hiding in the nearby reserved forest. A manhunt has been launched to nab him with help of the forest officials.
