Getting Idea from ‘Crime Patrol’, Woman Kills Daughter to Live With Lover

Patna: Police have arrested the mother of the three-year-old girl whose body was found in a suitcase in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur in connection with the murder.

During interrogation, the accused, Kajal, admitted before police that she was in an extramarital affair and wanted to leave her husband to live with her boyfriend. But her lover did not want her daughter to come along.

So, to get rid of her daughter, she slit the three-year-old child’s throat, packed her body in a suitcase and threw it into a bush.

She confessed that she planned her daughter’s murder after watching the popular TV show Crime Patrol.

After recovery of the body of the child at a residential area in Muzaffarpur’s Minapur on Saturday, police formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the murder.

Forensic team found traces of blood on the floor, in the sink and also on the terrace of Kajal’s house. She was also missing and police found that she had called her husband Manoj on the day of the incident and told him she was going to her aunt’s place.

Manoj filed a police complaint against his wife Kajal and an FIR was registered. By tracking the phone, Kajal was nabbed from her boyfriend’s house.

The murder weapon has also been recovered. She committed the murder alone by picking up the idea from the Crime Patrol TV show. As police did not find any evidence related to the involvement of the boyfriend in the killing, he has not been detained.
