Jilted Lover Murders Woman for Ignoring Him; Later Attempts to End Life

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman from West Bengal was attacked and killed by a man in Hyderabad as she was avoiding him. Later the accused tried to commit suicide.

The victim died as she was stabbed multiple times by the accused from Bidar district in Karnataka. The accused reached the woman’s rented room at late night on Wednesday and attacked her with a knife. He also attacked three of the roommates who tried to save her.

After receiving information, a team from Gachibowli Police Station in Hyderabad reached the spot. The four seriously injured women were shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared the victim.

The accused and the woman, who was a beautician, were allegedly in a relationship in the past while she and the accused were in Bengaluru, revealed initial police investigation.

The woman had shifted to Hyderabad and was avoiding him. The accused suspected that she was having an affair with another man. The woman was also married and was staying away from her husband due to some personal reasons, police said.

After committing the crime, the accused tried to end his life on Thursday morning by climbing an electric pole and touching the high-tension wire near Moinabad. He suffered serious burn injuries and was shifted to a hospital. A case has been registered against him on charges of murder and attempt to murder.
