Maoists Kill 3 Villagers in Bijapur Dist of Chhattisgarh in 5 Days

Raipur: Renewing their acts of violence, Maoists have killed at least three villagers in separate incidents in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district during the last five days.

All victims were labelled ‘police informers’ by the Naxalites before their murder.

Sudru Karam from remote Timenar village was abducted and taken to a forest by the Maoists. Sudru was the brother of a head constable involved in anti-Maoist operations. Sudru’s body was later found on the outskirts of his village.

Situ Mandavi from Jagur village was killed by the Maoists at a praja court, where he was accused of acting as a police informer since 2021.

In the third incident on Tuesday, Karam Sudru, a relative of a security personnel, was killed in Timenar. Last Friday, Zamindar Lancha Punem was also killed in Pusnar.

According to the police, the murders were intended to deter young people from joining the security forces as all the victims were labelled as ‘police informers’.
