Minor Girl Drinks Poison After Being Raped in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: A minor girl consumed insecticide after being allegedly raped by a youth in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district on Sunday night.

She was alone at her home as her parents had gone to attend an event. A youth from her village forcefully entered the house and raped her. Shocked by the incident, the minor victim drank insecticide kept in the house.

When the girl’s condition deteriorated, neighbours informed her parents and she was admitted to the Damoh District Hospital. There the victim told the police about the sexual assault she had faced. Her medical examination also confirmed the rape. The condition of the minor remains critical.

Police have registered a case under the POCSO Act are searching for the culprit, who has absconded after committing the crime.
