Mother Kills 9-Yr-Old Daughter for Asking for More Food in Nabarangpur Dist

Nabarangpur: In an extremely shocking incident, a woman allegedly murdered her minor daughter when she demanded more food at Jhun Jhuni Para village under Raighar police station limits in the Nabarangpur district.

According to police sources, this incident happened on May 15.

The police investigation has revealed that the nine-year-old Tulabai Majhi, the daughter of Lakhidhar and Tribeni Majhi, had asked her mother to give her more food. But the poor family did not have adequate food at home. Tribeni got irked by the demand of her daughter and hit the girl’s head with a wooden plank. The girl died due to severe head injuries.

According to the Umerkote SDPO Madhusikta Mishra, to hide the murder, Tribeni burned the body secretly in a nearby field using diesel in an attempt to make it appear as a case of suicide. Initially the police had registered a UD case at Raigarh police station.

But investigation revealed that it was a case of murder. During interrogation, Tribeni confessed to the crime. She has been arrested and forwarded to court.
