School Teacher Arrested for Shooting Videos of Women in Toilet of Nagpur Industrial Expo

Nagpur: A school teacher identified as Mangesh Vinayakrao Khapre (37), was arrested for allegedly shooting videos of women using the toilet at an industrial expo in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city.

The accused was discreetly recording videos of the women in the washroom on his mobile phone through a window. His mobile phone was seized. This incident happened at the three-day industrial expo, ‘Advantage Vidarbha’, organised on the Nagpur university campus which concluded on Monday.

Following a complaint by a woman, a police investigation led to the arrest of the accused.

Examination of the seized mobile phone of the accused revealed that he had recorded videos of nearly a dozen women and deleted some of the clips. It was found that Khapre recording videos of women in public toilets since 2022. Nearly 30 such videos were found in his mobile phone.

A case was registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.

Khapre is an art teacher at a prestigious private school. According to police sources, he designed the festival gate.

The accused was produced in a local court which granted him bail on Tuesday.
