Seizure of 14000 Bottles of Illicit Liquor Kerala’s Local BJP Leader Arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: A local BJP leader and former panchayat member named Lalu (50) along with his accomplice Lawrence (52) were arrested on Tuesday by Kerala police following seizure of over 14,000 bottles of illicit foreign liquor and over 2,400 litres of spirit. The liquor and spirit was stored in a hidden room inside Lalu’s poultry farm in Vellanchira, near Irinjalakuda.

It is suspected that the seized liquor and spirit was linked to illicit liquor brewing racket.

Investigation is on to identify other accused in the matter.

The raided poultry farm was a transit point of illicit liquor. Police are investigating to ascertain the source of 14,000 bottles of illicit liquor with IMFL stickers.
