Unable to Pay Her Hospital Bill, Man Strangles Wife to Death in US

A US man Ronnie Wiggs strangled his wife to death at a hospital as he could not afford her medical bills.

According to police sources, this murder was committed at around 11:30 pm on May 3 at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

The victim was allegedly assaulted in the ICU.

Prosecutors alleged that while the woman was in her hospital bed, Ronnie Wiggs began choking her. He reportedly covered her mouth and nose to prevent her from calling for help.

By the time police arrived, the victim had no pulse or brain function.

During interrogation, Wiggs confessed that he was struggling financially and battling depression, as a result of which he decided to kill his ailing wife, reported Fox.

He also confessed to have attempted to kill his wife twice during past hospital and rehabilitation visits.

Wiggs is now charged with second-degree murder and held on a $250,000 bond.
