UP Man Murders His Niece for Agreeing to Marry Another Man

Lucknow: A man named Manikant Dwivedi was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district for allegedly murdering his 22-year-old niece because she wanted to marry someone else. Manikant was having an extramarital affair with his niece.

The accused disposed of the body of the girl in a under-construction building and also threw her mobile phone in a bus to mislead the investigating policemen.

The deceased, Mansi Pandey, had gone to her aunt who is Manikant’s wife’s home on Monday on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. But she did not return home. Her father Ramsagar Pandey registered a police case against Manikant, accusing her of taking his daughter away. The police took Manikant into custody and interrogated him.

The accused told police during interrogation that he was having an extra-marital affair with Mansi for two years. But recently Mansi told him that she wanted to marry someone else. Irked by it, Manikant and he choked her to death.

Mansi’s wedding had been fixed for November 27.
