Youth Poisons Minor Girl at Her Home In Balangir District

Balangir: A minor girl was allegedly poisoned by a youth at Banjhipali village under Agalpur police station in the Balangir district. The girl died during treatment at the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (BBMCH) in Balangir.

According to reports, the youth allegedly tried to kill the girl when she rejected his advances. When she was at her home, the youth entered the house and forcibly made her drink poison and fled. All this happened in front of the girl’s mother. But the accused in a hurry to escape from the spot left behind his mobile phone.

The poisoned girl was initially taken to the Balangir District Headquarters Hospital. Later she was transferred to the BBMCH as her condition deteriorated. There she was pronounced dead. The police have seized the mobile phone left behind by the accused and have launched an investigation to nab him.
